What is Sampling used for?

A

estimate the number of organisms or particular characteristics of those organisms without cutting them all

Q

How to do Random Sampling and how is it an advantage?

A

Using grid co-ordinate and a random number generator to select the coordinates you sample helps to make sure your samples are separated out at random in the area you are sampling from
Reduces bias

Q

What is Standard Deviation?

A

tell you the variation of values in a sample about the mean
High standard deviation= lots of variation in the sample
