-coelomate, protostomes
-segmented skeletons with jointed appendages
-open circulatory system and well developed sensory systems

-but limits size of organism and makes it more difficult to regulate body temp

-have chelicerae for feeding and pedipalps for sensing or feeding

-millipedes, centipedes

-millipedes have 2 pairs of walking legs per segment, centipedes have 1 pair

lice, beetles, flies, termites, butter/dragonflies

-have malpighian tubes for excretion
