Healing by primary intention, Healing by secondary intention
General factors affecting wound healing
Age
Debilitation due to malnutrition
Corticosteroids
Generalized infection
Malnutrition
How does diabetes reduce wound healing
Microangiopathy
Atherosclerosis
Decreased phagocytes activity
Proliferation of bacteria due to hyperglycemia
Poor immune response
What is microangiopathy
Capillary walls become so thick and weak that they bleed, leak protein, and slow the flow of blood.
Some nutrients needed for wound healing
Zinc
Vitamin C
Why does jaundice and uraemia cause delay wound healing
They cause delayed fibroblastic repair
