What does the PHC principle of equitable access to health care mean?
Health equity meansall people (individuals, groups and communities) have a fair chance to reach their full health potential and are not disadvantaged by social, economic and environmental conditions. This includes equitable (fair) access to healthcare professionals, healthy food and a safe living environment.
What does the PHC principle of appropriate technology mean?
Appropriate technology means thatmodes of care are appropriately adapted to the community’s social, economic and cultural development.

Being aware that cultural differences and similarities between people exist without assigning them a value – positive or negative, better or worse, right or wrong.
