Pathogenesis
A
The progressive cellular and biochemical changes that occur during the development of a disease.

Clinical Course
A
The clinical signs and symptoms of a disease. Dictated to by both the aetiology and Pathogenesis of the disease.

Hypoxia
A
Low oxygen.
- Respiratory diseases: oxygen exchange in lungs is reduced
- Red blood cell disorders: oxygen carry capacity of blood cells is reduced, all tissues will have reduced oxygenation.
- Cardiovascular disease: disease of small vessels (capillaries) and large vessels (arteriols). Results in reduced perfusion of oxygenated blood into tissues that have diseases vessels.

Idiopathic disease
A
Unknown cause. Often autoimmune diseases.

Latrogenic disease/disorder
A
Caused by the health professional or physician. Can be pharmaceutical, surgical or therapeutically induced.

Ischaemia
A
A reduction in blood supply to a tissue or organ

Infarct
A
Ischaemic necrosis. Reduction in blood supply to a tissue to cause death of that tissue.
