What is an Ophthalmologist? (Also known as an eye surgeon or a medical eye specialist)
A Medical or Osteopathic doctor who specializes in eye and vision care.
What is an Optometrist? (Not a Medical doctor)
A health care professional who provides primary vision care, ranging forms sight testing and correction to the diagnosis, treatment and management of vision changes. (Not a Medical doctor)
What is an Optician?
A technician that is trained to design, verify, and fit eye glasses lens and frames, contact lenses, and other devices to correct eyesight.
What is a Registered Nurse?
A Registered Nurse completes a 2-4 year educational program before taking an exam to be licensed as a professional RN, may assist the physician in more technical tasks, such as injecting medications or assisting with hospital or office surgery.
