What is chiropractic divided into? Explain what these divisions are.

A

Vitalist and non-vitalist
Vitalist model believes that the is an innate intelligence flowing through the nervous system and spinal subluxations can stop the life force and cause disease.
Non-vitalist model is more scientific and uses research to justify treatments

A

Chiros are seen as both diagnosticians and therapists, healthcare professionals whose primary focus is the management of musculoskeletal conditions, such as BP, whiplash etc without the use of drugs

Who is a chiropractor?

A

Since 2001 the title ‘chiropractor’ has been protected under law in the UK and it is illegal for anyone to call themselves a chiro if they’re not. You need to be registered with the GCC to become a chiropractor
