Prokaryotes: Small Simple internal structure No true nucleus *includes bacteria and close relatives*
Eukaryotes Large More complex structure Contain Nucleus *Found in higher animals & plants*

A
- Lipid bilayer
- Most common molecule is phospholipid - polar/hydrophilic head and tail is vice versa
- Cholestrol embedded in inner area of bilayer to provide membrane integrity
- Other proteins acting like channels as well as pumps
