Q

What is nutrient density? What foods have high nutrient density? What foods have low nutrient density? Why does it matter?

A

Nutrient density is the ratio of nutrients relative to the caloric content of the food. High = large amount of key nutrients per 100 calories. Spinach = high. Table sugar = low. Nutrient dense foods can be eaten in greater quantity, providing for satiety and preventing over consumption of calories.
