Plato’s cave allegory
- group of people grow up in a cave their entire life, only seeing shadows on the wall
- 1 guy leaves cave and sees the true world (eyes adjust to outside)
- comes back (eyes need to adjust to dark) tries to explain real world to rest of group, they think he’s crazy
- life as a philosopher
Death of Socrates
Socrates was killed due to his difference of beliefs in comparison to his country’s people (he annoying)
First order language
Simple thinking and talking (is it right or wrong to cheat on a test)
Second order language
Generalized, it clarifies the first order language

Plato divided the human soul into 3 parts
- reason (logistikon)
- spirit (thymoeides)
- desire (epithymetikon)

All things including humans are constantly changing
The good Brahman
- Brahman = happy life
- old lady = sad life
- old lady happy in ignorance
- Brahman sad with all questions of universe un-answered
- Brahman doesn’t wanna be like old lady cuz being stupid worse than sad
