Difference between verbal and nonverbal communication
Verbal - Spoken words/sounds
Nonverbal - Cues used to express something without words/sounds (body language, facial expressions, etc)

Loss or abnormality of psychological or anatomical structure or function (body)

Restriction or lack of ability to perform an activity in the manner or within range the is considered normal (activity)

Disadvantage for a given individual that limits or prevents the fulfillment of a role that is normal (society)
Compensatory Therapy with Example
Helps an individual adapt/”deal with” a situation that may or may not improve (communication boards or PECS)
Restorative Therapy with Example
Helps restore what has been lost/hasn’t developed

Work - hospitals, schools, private practices, government agencies, universities, etc.
Common Team Members - physician, nurses, respiratory therapist, physical therapist, social worker, guidance counselor, teacher, etc
