Class 3 - anterior, one full side posterior, back molar present on opposing side
Class 4 - anterior teeth missing (incisors)
What are the methods of support for partial dentures
Craddock Class I
Saddles supported on both sides by abutment teeth
Tooth borne
Craddock Class II
Vertical biting forces resisted entirely by soft tissues
Mucosa borne
Craddock Class III
Tooth supported at only one end of the saddle
Tooth and mucosa borne
What does tooth borne support mean
Everything rests on the teeth
Replacement teeth supported on both sides by substantial abutment teeth
What is mucosa borne support
Everything rests on the mucosa
Biting forces resisted entirely by soft tissue
What is tooth and mucosa borne support
Mixture- some of the denture rests on the teeth, some rests on the mucosa
Tooth supported at only one end of the saddle
