civics
The study of a person’s rights and duties as a citizen is known as civics. It is a combination of many subjects, including history, political science, and social sciences. Before World War I the principles of democracy were studied in classes in history and political science.
community
A community is a group of people living or working together in the same area. People in communities might go to the same schools, shop in the same stores and do the same things. They also help each other and solve problems together.
Government
Any group of people living together in a country, state, city, or local community has to live by certain rules. The system of rules and the people who make and administer them is known as a government.
values
Value is the amount of worth ascribed to something, the degree to which something is prized or has merit. Values are the beliefs that each person considers are important for himself and possibly for humanity as a whole.
Morals
Morals are what you believe to be right and wrong. People can have different morals: you might say, “I like his morals” or “I wonder about his morals.” Your morals are your ideas about right and wrong, especially how you should act and treat other people.
welfare
the state of doing well especially in respect to good fortune, happiness, well-being, or prosperity. must look out for your own welfare.
Equality
Equality is achieved when people are treated the same, regardless of what they look like or where they come from.
unity
Unity is being together or at one with someone or something. It’s the opposite of being divided. This is a word for togetherness or oneness. When the north won the Civil War, it assured the unity of the United States. Sports teams wear uniforms to show unity, and their fans wear team colors for the same reason.
independent
The word independence means “not dependent”, or not having to depend on anyone or anything else. It also means being strong and able to survive alone. Anything can be dependent or independent. When people talk about independence, it may be about people or countries, where it is often being spoken about as a good thing.
dependent
determined by something else. b. : relying on another for support. dependent children.
fair
Fair means everyone gets what they need, based on visible gaps in opportunity. And sometimes people will have different needs because we are unique individuals
equality
Equality is achieved when people are treated the same, regardless of what they look like or where they come from.
Diversity
Difference(s) between two or more things. Examples: Diversity in plants include trees, bushes, flowers, grass, etc. Diversity in dogs include big dogs, small dogs, long haired dogs, short-haired dogs, etc. Similarly, in people things such as race and skin color, religion, age, disabilities, etc.Jan 11, 2021
Honesty
Honesty means we are truthful in what we say and do. It means people can rely on us because we have integrity. Honesty is the basis of a trusting relationship. For five-year-old’s, honesty looks like responding truthfully when asked about a situation and sharing important information with trusted adults.
Sovereign
Sovereignty can describe the power of one state or thing over another or the freedom a state or thing has to control itself. Look closely at the word sovereignty, and you will see it is all about who reigns, or rules
