Intro to Chem Flashcards
What are the different states of matter
Gaseous - no fixed shape or volume
Liquid - no fixed shape but fixed volume
Solid - fixed shape and fixed volume
What is the difference between an atom, element, compound and molecule
Atom - smallest unit of matter and consists of protons, electrons and neutrons
Element - made up of one type of atom
Molecule - more than one atom (can be the same element or different)
Compound - more than one type of element
