Refers to socially constructed roles, behaviours and attitudes that a given society considers appropriate for men and women.
Primary Socialisation
the learning process of a person’s culture in the family. initial stage where a child is taught norms and values of their culture by their parents.

gender roles are a result of primary socialisation. children made continually aware of gender differences through phrases like “good girl” and “brave boy”.
