Behavior: what people do

What is CBT and what is its premise?
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy: Understanding the inner voice and how it affects behavior
What are the 4 goals of psychology and what do they mean?
- Description: report information about something
- Understanding: Figure out the “why?” behind something
- Prediction: Finding a patter in order to know what will happen next
- Control: Change a behavior for a benefit or treating/improving something

- PhD in psych or a PsyD
- Provides mental health care but can’t prescribe meds
- Practice therapy in Clinical or counseling psychology
- Conduct research

- Medical doctor
- Can prescribe meds
- Many practice therapy
