Intro Flashcards
Who held a competition to build the largest structure from uncooked spaghetti, tape, string and a marshmallow? Who participated and who won?
Peter Skillman
Teams of:
1. Kindergarteners (avg 26”)
2. CEO’s (22”)
3. Lawyers (15”)
4. Business students (<10”)
Why do kindergarteners work better together than business school students?
Business students appear to be collaborating but instead are engaged in “status management”. They spend so much time on that, that they fail to ga grasp the essence of the problem.
Kindergarteners appear disorganised but when you view them as a single entity, their behaviour is efficient and effective.
They stand shoulder to shoulder, move quickly, spotting problems and offering help. They experiment, take risks and notice outcomes.
Which three skills create a strong culture?
- Building safety
- Share vulnerability
- Establish purpose
