Intrapartum management of preeclampsia?

Answer 1

Monitor BP ½ hourly as a minimum
Continuous CTG is recommended
IV access is required
An epidural (in the absence of contraindications) is a useful adjunct therapy for BP control

Active management of third stage is recommended due to the increased risk of postpartum haemorrhage
DO NOT GIVE Ergometrine or Syntometrine as it may produce an acute rise in BP
