What is it?
A
Bleeding into the brain tissue
Often due to microaneurysms rupturing

What are the risk factors?
A
HTN Head injury Aneurysm Ischaemic stroke Brain tumours Anti-coagulants

What are the symptoms?
A
Sudden onset headache Seizures Weakness LoC Neurological symptoms

What investigations are needed?
A
Bloods
- FBC
- Clotting
CT head
MRI head- shows changes after 2hrs

What is the management?
A
Same as cerebral infarction but no anti-platelets/coag
Make normotensive with IV labetalol
Neurosurgical input asap
