What is it?
A
Bleeding between the skull and dura
Often due to blunt force trauma e.g. blow to the side of the head

What are the symptoms?
A
Period of LoC followed by lucid interval
Progressive hemiparesis and near unconsciousness
Unilateral fixed dilated pupil that progresses to bilateral
Ultimately can lead to resp arrest

Q
What investigations are needed?
A
CT head
-lentiform shaped mass (like a bulge)
Can get midline shift as it progresses
Urgent neurosurgery referral if symptomatic
