What should you ask a patient with dysphagia?
A
Solids, liquids, or both? How did it progress? Is it constant or intermittent? Where does it get stuck? How long after the swallow does it get stuck? Is it painful? Does the neck bulge or gurgle? Weight loss? Hoarseness? Drooling? Nausea? Vomiting? Regurgitation? Drooling?

What are the ADLs and IADLs?
A
ADLs: bathing, grooming, and oral care picking out clothes and dressing feeding oneself using the restroom without help getting out of bed or standing from a chair
IADLs: managing finances driving or riding public transit shopping preparing meals using the telephone or other communication devices managing medications housework

A
pt lying supine flex right hip against resistance
or pt lying left lateral decubitus passively extend hip
pain is positive

pt lying supine flex the right hip and knee then internally rotate the right hip

pressure at right costal margin just lateral to rectus muscles then ask pt to breath deep.
