Interview
A non-structured discussion designed to gather information and determine facts about a crime or incident
Interrogation
The systematic effort by law enforcement Investigators to prove, disprove, criminal investigation using direct questioning in a controlled environment,
Witness
A person who has knowledge of a crime or incident
Suspect
A person thought to be guilty of a committing or involvement in the commission crime or offense
Juvenile
A person less than 18 years of age at the time of the incident and is not on active duty
Senior military/civilian
Admiral or flag-grade officer (active or reserve) or designee
Civilian in the grade of general schedule (GS-15 and above)
Any other person of equivalent rank who occupies a key position as designated by the appropriate commander
Field interviews
Targets a particular person seen in the area of the crime or event
All suspects should be searched for weapons and or contraband prior to interrogation T or F
