Intertrigenous/axillary Parakeratosis presents as:

- pruritic, keratotic red-brown papule and plaques in the intertrigenous areas (axillae>inguinal, inframammary)

- characteristic thickened eosinophilic stratum corneum w/ prominent parakeratosis and retained keratohyaline granules

Prognosis of axillary granular PK?
A
- Can be chronic/recurrent

Treatment of axillary granular PK?
A
- topical corticosteroids are mainstay
- also topical vitamin D analogues, keratolytics, and antifungals
- can try destruction with cryotherapy
- if severe can use systemic isotretinoin or systemic antifungals
