Etiology of CARP

Clinical presentation of CARP:
A
- Red or brown, rough, keratotic, slightly raised papules that first appear in intermammary region–> then spreads outward and forms reticulated pattern laterally
- can have features similar to Tinea versicolor and acanthosis nigricans
(more confluent centrally, and reticulated laterally)

Histology of CARP:

- Hyperkeratosis, acanthosis, papillomatosis

Treatment of choice for CARP:
A
- Minocycline 100mg BID x 6 weeks (effective in 50%)
- Other options: Oral retinoids, oral antibiotics, topical antifungals
