What are some of the causes of interstitial lung disease?
A
Occupation exposures - asbestosis, silicosis, berryliosis
Organic exposures - pigeon’s fancier’s lung, farmer’s lung, baker’s lung etc.
Connective tissue diseases - RA, SLE, scleroderma, polymyositis, dermatomyositis
Granulomatous disease - sarcoidosis, hypersensitivity reactions
Idiopathic
Drugs - methotrexate, nitrofurantoin, chemotherapy agents
Infection - atypical pneumonia, covid-19, TB, pneymocitis pneumoniae, chlaymdia trachomatis, respiratory syncytial virus

Describe the management of ILD?
A
Supportive therapy - oxygen Treatment of underlying cause Lifestyle changes - smoking cessation Corticosteroids Antifibrotics and tyrosine kinase inhibitors in idiopathic disease
