A

A domain name is used to define the location and authority of an internet site over the internet.

Example:

FCP’s domain name is www.free-clep-prep.com which is also a URL. However, the URL http://www.free-clep-prep.-com/clep-exams.html is not considered a domain name because it is not the top-level of the website.
