what are the Key roles and responsibilities for International sports organisations
Organises tournaments/events/decide on host nation
Creates and amends the laws of the game (FIFA)
Uses the game or event to unite people and remove barriers
Uses the game/event to improve education
Uses the game/event to improve ethics and fair play
Tackles drug problems
Promotes the game/event/increases participation
Promotes equality in sport and the participation of women
What is the European Union Responsible for ?
Producing initiatives and policies to develop sport and physical activity across Europe. It’s programmes look to boost the skills and employability of young people through sport.

The RFU can choose to have a selection policy for the England team, of not selecting eligible players who are based overseas. IE playing in France.

They cannot limit overseas players playing in domestic competitions (Rugby Premier League) due to European Union law.

FIFA trialed VAR for 2 years
The FA would have needed to ask FIFA for permission to use the VAR system in its competitions on a permanent basis
However, FIFA decided that all associations can now use the VAR system due to the successful trial of system
The premier league and FA decided against using it in the 2018/19 season but it will be used in the FA cup and Carobo Cup
The FA still have control over whether to use the system in the English game, the premier league discussed and decided to implement it for the 2019/20 season
