This term is used when the person takes in (introjects) aspects of the external world and then organizes those introjections into a psychologically meaningful framework.
Internalizations
It has the ability to sense both
destructive and loving forces and to manage them through splitting, projection, and
introjection.

Under less ideal circumstances, the little girl will see her mother as a rival and will fantasize about robbing her mother of her father’s penis and stealing her mother’s babies. She will then project this impulse to her mother and fear that her mother will retaliate by injuring her or stealing the child’s baby.

During the early months, a boy shifts some of his oral desires from his mother’s breast to his father’s penis.
Male Oedipal Development
the boy must have a good feeling about his father’s penis before he can value his own.

A male child adopts a passive homosexual attitude toward his father.
