A
Round mass anterior to superior colliculus. Dorsal to hypothalamus. Functions in relaying impulses and some memory and emotions

Hypothalamus
A
Area just ventral to the thalamus and superior to the optic chiasma and infundibulum

Pineal Gland (body)
A
Single, rounded structure, located dorsally, medial, and anterior to superior colliculi. Function is not well known and is not part of diencephalon.
