Q

What should a T/O do after the stop upon encountering a Red (STOP) Home or Low Home Signal?

A
  • Use a Route Request Button or Telephone, located on or near the Signal or radio to local Tower.
  • If no route request button/phone, and signal remains at danger, T/O must notify RCC immediately via radio.
  • If no acknowledgement, utilize emergency telephone near blue light location, token booth or public telephone to call RCC.

If T/O receives a proper signal to proceed (hand, light or flag), he must NOT move unless they are certain the person giving the signal is a qualified employee of RTO or Signals, and knows the proceed signal is meant for them, and the automatic stop arm is in the clear position, and observes that all switches are properly set for their route.

Then proceed RSEC to next signal.
