- They develop egocentricism
- Can speak in sentences

- Can use abstract thinking
- Can problem solve and reason using hypothetical thinking
- Can see alternative perspectives and viewpoints
- Takes more risks due to the pre frontal still developing

- Can use a full spectrum of thinking skills including pragmatic thinking
- Maturation of the pre frontal cortex is complete by 25, they can control their impulses
- Careers and career development
- Some adults may return to education

- Can use a full spectrum of thinking skills including pragmatic thinking
- Retirement from full time work

- Retirement but new hobbies and skills
- Degeneration of nervous tissue slowing thinking speed and reaction time
- Pathological brain changes may cause dementia
