What is the difference between peripheral vs central cyanosis?
A
peripheral = due to reduced blood flow to skin with loss of oxygen to tissues, resulting in a darker, somewhat blue color
central = reduced oxygen level in the blood, can be from heart disease, advanced lung disease, etc
