What are the melanocyte functions of the epidermal cells?
Produces melanin, melanin stored in
keratinocytes.
What are the langerhan cell functions of the epidermal cells?
From bone marrow, immunity
What has five layers, including the stratum lucidum?
Thick skin.
What are the merkel cell functions of the epidermal cells?
Deepest layer only, sensory neurons
What determines melanin from melanocytes?
Eumelanin, phaeomelanin
What has four layers, without the stratum lucidum?
Thin skin.
What determines carotene?
Vitamin A precursor, yellow- orange tinge
