A

add the numbers. The answer will have the same

A

subtract the numbers. The answer will have the
sign of the number with the larger absolute value.
-8 + 10 = 2

it’s the same as adding the opposite. Then use the same rules as adding integers.
–9 − 4 = –9 + (–4)
–2 − (–7) = –2 + 7
