• Video photography.
• Digital image processing.
Drawing types? (2)
• Biological drawings.
• Plan diagrams (not asked of you to draw).
Plan diagrams attributes? (4)
• Boundaries represented by lines.
• No scale bar.

• Magnification given.
Digital photography?
= produces digital images that can be displayed on a computer monitor, saved to a drive (hard disk drive, USB flash drive, etc) & processed with digital image software.
Video photography attributes? (2)
• Used to record the movements & processes (eg. physiology) in living specimens.
• Still images can also be obtained by capture of individual video frames.
What is video photography used to record? (2)
• Movement of living specimens.
• Processes occurring in living specimens.
Digital image processing attributes? (6)
• Can be used on…
• Can be used for…
• Digital image enhancing (software such as coral draw), which increases the contrast of the image.
• Need a clean side with no aberrations on slide/cell.
• Change/Add colour.
• Note to never manipulate image captured to the point where you add something that was not in the original image.
What can digital image processing be used on? (4)
• Images from digital still cameras.
• Images from digital video cameras.
• Scanned-in images (prints, slides, etc) from analogies photography.
• Both LM & EM images.
What can digital processing image be used for? (3)
• Enhancing images (EM).
• Carrying out measurements on specimens.
• Carrying out counts on specimens.
