These include: Having an organisational structure : Point 1
Have sanctions: Point 2
-in the form of rewards( we have positive and negative sanctions in the form of punishments)
Have practices and rituals: Point 3
-such as standing when a judge enters the court.
Safety basic needs: Point 4
Socialised members: Point 5
Support their operations financially:Point 6
Types of Institutions
Economic/Financial: banks, insurance companies, stock markets.
Medical: hospital,clinic
Recreational: gyms, sports bar, clubs, arcade
Educational: schools,university and college
Religious: church,branches,temples,mosque,synagogue
Functions of each Institution
Economic: take bills, financial advice, accept money on deposit , create employment, provide loans
Educational: socializes individuals, ensure the complete development of individuals, to impose positive sanctions, makes an individual literate, develop analytical and critical thinking, prepares an individual for work
Medical: disease diagnosis, disease prevention, disease intervention,provides aid for wounded and sick without any discrimination,disease treatment
Recreational: provides exercise, socializes members, provide employment, to contribute to society.
Religious: provides advice, promotes direction, promotes social change, provide identity for individuals
