What does Input Split mean?
A
input comes before the DAW and the rest of the module comes after the DAW

What is the basic signal flow for Input Split?
A
Mic Output -> Preamp -> Channel Output (CHOP) -> DAW -> Monitor Returns -> Processing -> Fader -> Pan -> Mix A

A
monitor the signal processors without recording them

A
immediately after the mic preamp

How do you set up Input Split?
A
- ) wake up channel select by pressing + and - together
- ) press SELECT, then ALL to select all channels
- should see a green highlight on the TFT display around every channel - ) in the CHANNEL IN row, select MIC
- ) in the CHANNEL OUT row, select INPUT
- this sets the point in the signal flow where the module will be split - ) in the CHANNEL IN row, select SPLIT
- you should see the modules split into two paths on the TFT display - ) in BUS ROUTING, select MIX A
- ) set Duality meters to show the mic preamp level
- in METERS, select INPUT - ) deselect all channels by pressing + and - together

How do you patch in microphones for Input Split (if using the Duality preamps)?
A
- ) plug in microphones to desired channels in the studio
- ) patch mic tie lines into channel inputs corresponding to the tracks you wish to record on
- MIC LINES (#) -> CHANNEL INPUTS (#) in the patchbay - ) turn on phantom power if you are using a condenser microphone
- select channel you need by pressing SELECT at the very bottom of the channel
- select +48V in the INPUT section of the central routing panel - ) record arm the DAW tracks
- ) adjust mic preamp inputs with red knob at top of module
- ) bring up faders to hear sound source
