- keyboard; keys used to input letters/numbers and symbols e.g. writing report
- scanner; converts hard copy text/images into a digital format
- mouse; pointing device used to select items on screen e.g. clicking on icons
- webcam; inputs video and still images directly into a computer e.g. streaming
- graphics tablet; controls the computer by a use of a stylus (screen pen) on a tablet
e. g. creating logos/ graphics

- printer; produces hard copies of digital documents and images on paper e.g. print report
- speakers/ headphones; amplify analogue signals (sound waves) sent from sound card for user to hear e.g. music
- projector; outputs an image onto a wall/screen
- monitor; outputs an image to the user e.g. watching movies/ playing games
