Innovative Solutions Flashcards
Define the Term Internet of Things
refers to the billions of devices around the world that are connected to the internet, collecting, receiving or sending data.
What is Virtual Reality?
Virtual Reality (VR) is when a digital system is used to generate 3D images that the user interacts with.
What does the Health Records Act 2001cover?
Is it a state or federal law?
-Victorian Law
-Contains condition and laws to how and when an indivdual’s personal health data and info can be collected by Vic gov and private organisations that either offer health services or handle health records
What are emerging technologies - give 3 examples
Are technologies that are perceived to be capable of making significant change within society.
Examples: Drones, AI, Self driven cars, virtual assistants. nano satellites, VR, AR
What is the Internet of Things (IoT)?
Collectively, the billions of devices around the world that are connected to the internet, collecting, receiving, and sending data.
Each digital system has a series of goals? What does that mean
A set of desired results that a digital system is expected to achieve. Purpose or Aim
What are assistive technologies?
Any technology that allows an individual or organisation to complete a task they would not normally be able to complete, or makes it easier or safer to complete day to day activities
What are non-functional requirements of a solution?
Characteristics user’s or clients would like the solution to have but do not affect the solution - user friendly, does no display personal info, etc
List 3 economic issues involving emerging technologies
Access, deskilling, job loss, misuse, sustainability
What are functional requirements of a solution
Directly related to what the solution will do - track use by dates, detect items in the fridge, send alerts when an issue is encountered.
What are Assistive technologies?
Technology that allows an individual or organization to complete a task that they would not normally be able to complete, or makes it easier or safer to complete day-to-day activities.
What does Validation do?
Checks the reasonableness of data inputs
What is a Blockchain?
The Blockchain is a collection of data records that is stored on multiple devices.
what are some examples of interpersonal skills
make a decision
listen ‘negotiate communicate verbally and non-verbally
problem solved
What is deskilling?
Deskilling is the replacement of a skilled worker, or reduction of their job specification.
What is the Privacy Act 1988?
-Federal Law
-Related to how personal data and info can be collected by Australian government and private organisations
What is a Virtual Assistant?
A Virtual Assistant is a software agent that can perform tasks or services for an individual.
List the 10 Privacy Principles
Collection, Use and Disclosure, Data quality, Data Security, Openness,
Access and corrections, Unique Identifiers, Anonymity, Transborder data flows, Sensitive information.
Legal constraints are:
privacy laws and copyright laws.
Usability constraints are:
developing the solution for different age groups,
Each Goal has a series of objectives.
What are objectives ?
Define how a goal will be achieved.
Set a digital system Goal and 3 potential objectives
Goal - Develop daily image of the earth
Objective 1 - 16 nanosatellites in orbit
Objective 2 - Each satellite rotates around the earth once in 48 hrs
Objective 3 - Satellites takes one image every 2 seconds
What does testing do?
Checks the accuracy of information output?
List 3 key pieces of legislation that you should be aware of when working with user data?
Privacy Act 1988
Privacy and Data Protection Act 2014
Health Records Act 2001
Copyright Act 1968
Ethics are?
beliefs, principles or standards that individuals, organisations or society have regarding acceptable behaviour
Types of constraints that affect a digital solution:
Economic, Technical, Legal, Usability
What does the Copyright Act 1968 cover?
Is it a state of federal law?
-Federal Law
-Contains conditions and rules related to copyright
What is Cryptocurrency?
Cryptocurrency is a type of virtual currency that uses encryption to secure transactions.
Technical constraints are:
Constraints related to hardware and software available for the project.
List 2 Design Tools
Layout and mock-up diagrams
Pseudo Code
Sitemaps
Storyboards
What does GPS stand for?
Global Positioning System
What is an EFT?
An Electrical Funds Transfer (EFT) is a system of transactions that allows financial payments to be made from one bank account to another.
The Analysis Stage of problem-solving methodology includes 3 stages which are…
Requirements
Constraints
Scope
The Scope of Solution outlines …
The parameters of a solution, what it WILL and WON’T do.
The Design Stage of problem-solving methodology includes…
Designing the Solution and creating the Evaluation Criteria
What does Validation do?
checks the reasonableness of data inputs
The purpose of Evaluation criteria is to..
check how well the solution is meeting the need of the users it was created for.
Efficiency of a system checks things like:
speed, productivity, probability, labour requirements
Effectives of a systems check things like:
completeness, readability, attractiveness, clarity, accuracy, accessibility, timeliness, communication of message, relevance and usability
A Product is ..
is a completed solution with full functionality
A Prototype is..
is a model or a solution with limited functionality
