Maintain control of the scene by controlling people’s movements
Preserve
Prevent further loss or potential loss of evidentially important items
Duties of a scene guard
Prevent unauthorised access
Record in notebook details anyone entering or exiting scene
Brief authorised personal
Reporting any suspicious behaviour
Avoid contamination or interference with scene
Remove animals from scene if possible
