At first just goes along to get along AND she is very afraid to go against her father.
At the end of the play she decides to stand up for her rights to think and decides to leave her father and goes with Bertram

Like his hands are a scale. He is showing that both of the should have equal value.

Golden Dancer was a wooden rocking horse that Drummond saw in a window of a store. It was poorly made (all shine and no substance.)
He says to be careful of brining shiny perfect things into your life - you have to look behind the paint. If it is a lie - show that lie for what it is
