What is WorldCat Discovery? (TiU Library catalog. What does it tell you/ allow you to?
- allows you to search for books and other physical materials held by TiU library;
- tells you where to find these items;
- tells you whether a particular item can be checked out and whether it’s currently available;
- links to available full-text articles and e-books;
- displays books and articles outside of the TiU library when Libraries in The Netherlands or
Libraries Worldwide is selected; - includes an option to submit an ‘interlibrary loan’ request for items the library doesn’t own.

How to search on WCD?
Search rules apply the Boolean, Truncation and Wildcard system as displayed in module C. On the top you can enter keywords and adding rows below to add operators such as authors and titles. Under search tools you can limit your search by multiple filters.
What kind of filters can you apply after the search?
It contains many important filter such as: Sort order, held by TISEM library, format, content type, publication year and subject.
What are ‘SOC’ or ‘ECO’ examples from?
They are sub-sections of the call numbers within TiU library books. eg., a. SOC – social sciences
b. ECO – Economics CIF – Philisophy
d. LET – Language and literature
e. LA – Liberal arts
f. JUR – Law
g. TFL – Theology & religious studies 2. Subject
a. B80 – Economic psychology
code indicating subjects of the book
b. R82 – Criminal law
What is on level 0 of the library?
Level 0: Books on ECO, LA, LET, JUR, SOC and TFL
What is on level 1 of the library?
Level 1: reference works and student library.
