Explain the ‘People’ influence

A

Family- Participate in the same sport family do
Peers- People who are the same age playing with have great influence (“Peer Pressure”)
Role Models- Role Models inspire people to take part in sport

A
  • Fashion (sports clothing is often worn as fashion items having influence on people(equipment as well)
  • Media Coverage (The popularity of activity on TV eg Wimbledon)

  • Age (Reduces what sport you can play eg Job)
  • Disability can limit participation but can be adapted with new technology
  • Gender eg Males are known for Football and Females are known for Netball
  • Gender “only certain races are good at certain sports eg Usain Bolt sprint races”
