Stasis Dermatitis

A

Cause- associated with phlebitis, varicosities, vascular trauma.
Risk Factors- people w/ occupations involving chemicals & being outdoors; more common in children
Symptoms- beings with pruritus and erythema, progresses to hyperpigmentation, scaling, petechia, ulcerated lesions

Seborrheic Dermatitis

A

Dandruff - Cradle Cap
Cause- chronic inflammation of the sebaceous glands
Symptoms- scaly, white, itchy flaking on the scalp, eyebrows, eyelids, nose, axillae, chest, groin

Psoriasis

A

Cause- unknown, but thought to be caused by immunologic disorder, a triggering agent or biochemical alterations
Risk Factors- Usually occurs in patients under 20yrs old
Symptoms- well demarcated plaques, scaly, flaky, inflamed skin
