Vaccines are antigens and your body produces antibodies against that antigen

The amount of antibody against a specific antibody in the blood.
When do you give immunosuppressants?
For transplants and autoimmune diseases.
Problem with taking immunosuppressants?
Increased risk for infection
Neoplasms- cancer
What are two calcineurin inhibitors?
Cyclosporine and tacrolimus

How do calcineurin inhibitors work?
By suppressing the production of interleukin 2
What is cyclosporine used for?
Immunosuppressive for organ transplant
What drug can you not take grapefruit juice with?
Cyclosporine immunosuppressant
What drug is just used for real transplants?
Sirolimus
What are glucocorticoids?
Steroids that suppress the immune system.
-allograft rejection
What do cytotoxic drugs do?
Kill B and T cells
They are nonspecific
Helps with transplants
What adverse reaction can cytotoxic drugs produce?
Alopecia, bone marrow suppression, moon face
