Usually occurs if the significant level is to stringent (e.g. 1%)

Probability

A

Probability results occurred by chance

General level of 0.05 (5% chance)

Significance

A

If results show there’s a less than 5% chance, results occurred by chance, results are significant. Showing a significant correlation / difference
Null hypothesis then rejected.

If there was a greater than 5% probability the results were by chance, results are not significant, no significant correlation / difference
