What is the most common organism in bacterial tonsillitis?

Group A streptococcus (mainly Strep pyogenes)

Other causes other than GA strep for bacterial OM, sinusitis, tonsillitis
A
Haemophilus influenzae
Morazella catarrhalis
Staphylococcus aureus

Antibiotic choices for tonsillitis, OM and sinusitis if these are required
A
Tonsillitis -
- Pen V 10 day course (first line)
- Alternatives e.g. Co-amox, clarithromycin, doxycycline
OM:
- Amoxicillin first line
- Clarithromycin/Erythro if pen allergic
- 2nd line Co-amox (if not responding to amox)
Sinusitis:
- Pen V 5d first line usually
- Clar, Erythro, Doxy if pen allergic
- 2nd line Co-amox (if not responding to Pen V)
