PPE for airborne precautions:
Gloves
N95 MASK
Special considerations for airborne precautions:
Private room with negative air pressure.
Door closed.
Room patient with another patient with same disease.
Droplet Precautions

S(x3): Sepsis Scarlet fever Strept. pharyngitis P(x3): Paravovirus Pneumonia Pertussis I: influenza D: Diphtheria E: Epiglottis R: Rubella, Rhinovirus M(x3): Mumps Meningitis Mycoplasma pneumonia AN: Adenovirus
PPE for Droplet Precautions:
Gloves
Gown
Mask
Goggles
Special considerations for Droplet Precautions:
Transmitted by coughing, sneezing, talking.
Stand 3ft away from patient.
Door can stay open.
Private room, cohert.
Contact Precautions
“If you want to get better, don’t contact MRS. WEE”
M- MRSA, VRE
R- Respiratory infections (RSV)
S: Skin infections
W: Wound Infections
E: Enteric infections ( C. Diff)
E: Eye infections
PPE for Contact Precautions:
Gloves
Gown
Special considerations for Contact Precautions:
Private room.
Cohort with patient with same disease.
Skin to skin transmission.
