Projection
Infant believes object has qaulities, actually own qaulities. Infant turns satisfied feelings onto good breast and frustration onto bad breast.
Introjection
Infant internalises beliefs of outside world. Eg. External dangers, frustrations or anxiety
Splitting
Separating feelings or aspects of self, splits ego and objects into more managable parts (good/bad breast)
Projective identification
Splitting off of an unacceptable part of the self and sending onto another object.
The depressive position
Depressive anxiety, infant realises good/bad part is from the same person.
Anna freud
Psychoanalysis of children through play. Looking at the unconscious motivation behind play (drawings/paintings)
ID
Impulse, pleasure driven, needs/drives met.
Superego
Ideas based on ideas, guilt fantasy
Ego
Balance between ID needs and conscience of superego, reality principle.
What is the paranoid schizoid position?
Experience of extreme paranoid anxiety caused by the death/agressive drive or instinct.
