having to take care of dependent children and aging parents
What are the consequences fo domestic labour for women
women who work for pay take primary resposnibility for the care of their children by making arrangements for childcare and taking time off from work when the children are ill or when childcare is unavailable
this places women at a labour market disadvantage because very few workplaces offer childcare or dependxent care for their employees
WHat is the relationship between race and domestic labour
black women tend to resposnible for most of the hosuework and among the working clas, they take responsibility for making ends meet
compared to white women, black women disproportionately more housework and childcare
this is because black families are more likely to be than white families to be wokring cass
Who is more likely to be abused
wives are more likely to be abused when they live in poor families than in middle or high income families
also more likely to be abused if their partners have not graduated from hs or unemployed
